Nathaniel's bilirubin levels have gone down amazingly! You get a gold star in praying! His hematocrit (the amount of red blood cells in his body) has also gone down, which isn't good but that was expected. If it continues to fall he'll need a blood transfusion, but just the regular kind, not the exchange transfusion that we were looking at last night for the jaundice. A regular transfusion is a lot less risky than an exchange transfusion. So, all in all there was a lot of good news today! Plus, they changed him to an incubator so that he could stay warmer, which makes him rest much better, which makes this Momma much more comfortable to leave him there. Hopefully we'll get to bring him home in the next few days-I'm ready to show this boy off!!
