Sometimes Low Standards are Handy...

A couple days after Christmas we decided to brave the traffic and go to the drive thru zoo that is about 3 hrs away from our house. With the crowded streets it ended up being a 5 hr drive to get there, but it was pretty worth it anyway.
Since our country has low safety standards, we got to do things like pet tigers and lions, ride elephants through the jungle, feed camels and zebras out our windows, and even watch a trio of lions run and fight next to our car. As in, 2 feet from Kelly's window. There's a video that involves me shrieking, "Close the window!" over and over, but I will spare you that experience. Jeremy played Lady and the Tramp with a zebra, we all pet a zebra, fed some hippos, llamas and monkeys, and a weird steer-like animal stuck his nose in our car and stunk it up with his nasty breath. While Jeremy was turned around watching Kelly pet a zebra, another zebra stuck his face in the front window and bit Caleb's leg. It was a love bite, really. Poor Caleb, nobody even paid attention to his sweet little voice saying, "Zebra! Zebra biting me! Stop it zebra!!" Finally our driver pulled Caleb's leg out of the animal's mouth. Good parenting, right? We also road a Drop Zone type ride that hurled us way up in the air and then back down. Now, considering the low standards they have for safety with the animals, I'm a little embarrassed to say that we went on this ride, but we all lived so I guess it was a good decision! All in all it was a fun day.
