Anway, Nate liked the beach. He didn't mind when the wave knocked him over, then proceeded to crawl toward the waves. I love the look on his face as he crawled back to the ocean, so determined. This kid was a champ on the whole trip, he didn't cry hardly at all, and was a good sport as I carried him all over creation in his little Indo sling. It was a good time. I was glad to get back home, though. I think Caleb had written me off, when I came downstairs the next day he said, "Mommy, you're eating breakfast at MY house???"

Nate's first trip to the Beach!
Nate and I went on a girls' trip to Lombok last week with some short term girls who are working in our city. We had a pretty good time, although I realized I am old. This is a shocker for me, because I don't normally feel like a grown up, but more like I'm still trying to figure things out and learn from all the other grown ups. Then I wondered if all grown ups feel this way, like they are still trying to figure things out and become their 'grown up selves.' I don't know, but there's nothing like hanging around some college kids to make you realize that you're actually, currently a grown up. The good news is, being a grown up isn't so bad. Getting old is kind of rough. Last night I put Nate to bed and the cracking of my knee joints as I turned to leave the room actually woke him up. This can't be good. This is why God says to have kids when you're young. Too late now, I guess I'll buy some Ben Gay and keep going...
