Manic Monday...

So, we're having a baby on Monday. Everything is in place: crib sheets are washed, baby clothes folded and separated, tiny diapers purchased, babysitters arranged, final Target run complete, soothing/inspiring music loaded on the iPod. All that's left is to shave my legs, get a pedicure, and figure out how I'm going to manage four children. Caleb has chosen this week to turn into a monster, so that will add to the challenge.

Health-wise, we are delivering at St. Luke's on the Plaza, because they have a higher level NICU in case the new guy needs a blood transfusion or other treatments that our regular hospital can't handle. We expect him to at least need a regular transfusion, if not a complete exchange transfusion, where all his blood will be replaced with donor blood that doesn't have my antibodies in it. That is more complicated, but in the end seems like it will be best, because if there's no antibodies there's nothing to kill his blood cells and make him anemic and jaundiced. He'll also need to be under the blue lights to help him recover from jaundice caused by the anemia that he already has.

So there's the update! We'll be the Hrabar 6 before you know it!
