No excuse

Okay, there's no excuse for taking this long to post anything on our blog. Actually, there are several good excuses and we've got some, but we could have figured it out if we tried hard enough. Here's an update/list of excuses...

Oct. 28 we were robbed while we slept, losing all but one computer, including the Mac that had all our contacts stored in it. If you haven't heard from us in a while and are wondering why (Leslie Brown, this is for you!!) then we've lost your contact info! We also entered the lovely world of police reports, insurance claims, etc. The nicest thing is that our neighbors and friends were so very helpful and supportive, so we were blessed to know that they care about us. The funniest thing is that the police department's one computer was not working well, so the police asked us to type up our own report, then bring it back to them to sign. They ended up deciding that wasn't very professional, so they came to our house to type the report on our computer and print it (the thieves left our printer). The saddest thing is they stole my video camera which had videos of our kids stored on it but not anywhere else. And finally, the biggest inner chuckle of the event was our safe, which the thieves somehow removed from its hiding spot without waking us. It was full of our favorite Boooks, and was VERY heavy. I'm sure they thought it was full of cash and jewels and all the stuff rich people hide. They lugged it down our back steps, through the rice fields, and about a half mile down the road before they pried it open and out tumbled a bunch of Books. Hahahaha!

Sometime after that we, along with our company's medical department, decided we needed to go home for the duration of our pregnancy, because trying to manage the complications from Asia was just getting too stressful.

Dec. 14 we left for America until the baby is born and declared healthy, at which time we will return to SE Asia and try to finish our three year term before we get our five year pin...

Which leads us to now. We're staying at my (Andi's) parents' house in Liberty, MO. Baby is healthy so far, I go to a specialist on Jan 7th, so we'll know more then. We've been here almost two weeks, had a lovely, white Christmas with both sides of the family, and are almost over jetlag. Caleb had a rough time, but we're surviving. Hopefully I'll have him sleeping in his own bed before the next kid comes!!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!
