Blue Light Special!

Well, we were wrong about Caleb getting to come out of the nursery- the doctor actually decided to upgrade him to NICU status and put him under bili-lights to help him get rid of the extra bilirubin in his blood. (The extra bilibrubin is a result of his blood not being compatible with mine, which is why we returned to the States for delivery.) He's also getting IV fluids because he was not nursing very well and was becoming dehydrated. He stays under the lights 24/7 except for feeding 30 minutes every three hours. The pediatrician isn't sure when he'll get to leave the hospital, but we're hoping for Sunday or Monday. It's a bummer that he's still in the NICU, but we're happy to receive lots of good news- his heart murmur was nothing to be concerned about, his labs are getting better, and he's starting to nurse better also. We'll keep you posted on his progress!
