Day One: "Don't Drop That" Example #1: On the way to Jakarta, Matt made a paper airplane complete with happy missiles (straws from our juice boxes) to shoot at Kelly when she's grumpy. He dropped a happy missile on the floor, and when he bent to get it he leaned against the juice box in the seatback pocket and madea juice fountain, which got both of us wet. Then Mommy was the one who needed the happy missiles! Example #2: Kelly left the plane first, and while waiting for us on the tarmac, dropped her water bottle. When she bent over to pick it up, her backpack was so heavy (see example below) that she tipped over. When we got off the plane we saw our daughter sprawled out on the concrete, arms and legs flailing like a turtle on its back. The airport workers were laughing so hard they couldn't help her. She quickly righted herself and went on like nothing happened, but I laughed all the way to baggage claim.

Day Two: "No Cavities" Got our teeth cleaned for $10, and no cavities. Can't beat that! Then spent 7 hrs at the mall- not the greatest but it passed the day.
Day Three: "The Longest Birthday Ever" Today is Jeremy's birthday, and it will still be tomorrow when we land in LA. Since we're traveling against the earth's rotation, his birthday is 37 hrs long. The kids and I made him eggs, toast, and fruit pizza for breakfast. Then we surprised him with Subway sandwiches in the Taipei airport. This isn't a big deal for you, but it's been a year for him, so he was excited. Here's a photo of our post-Subway happy faces (no happy missiles needed). Please excuse my goofy face and red nose- I have a cold :)

Here's what's to come: 11 hr flight to LA, day and a half in LA with Jeremy's cousin Tina, sister Laurel, and our new friend jetlag. On Friday we head to Dallas to see my cousin play Willy Wonka and eat some turkey. Then Sunday we finally get to KC. Hopefully I'll see the doctor that week before Thanksgiving and get some idea of what our future plans are. In the mean time, we're getting excited about seeing everybody but also kind of Indo-homesick. We'll keep you posted!
