The kids celebrated their first overseas birthdays on March 28 and 29, and had a good time. Matt had a friend over for pizza and then we went to the arcade. We celebrated Kelly's birthday at a nearby hotel where they surprised her with cake and played Happy Birthday on the piano in the lounge. Her response was so graceful: "Oh Crap!" Then the next week we went swimming at a hotel with some of her friends. In this photo Matt is making a Joe Anderson face over some Runts candies from Poppy. Six months ago, Runts would not have been such a hit, but our perspective has changed a bit. Kelly received sweet pickles and chicken noodle soup for her birthday. They both got other presents, too, so don't start feeling sorry for them!
